How to Get Free Points From American Airlines- Complain!

Do you know the easiest way to earn American Airline miles outside of flying? Send a complaint email to customer service.

Top Reasons to Complain

  1. Flight delayed more than 2 hours

  2. Canceled flight

  3. Bad airport or flight experience

  4. Seat inconveniences (on-board entertainment doesn’t work or seat didn’t recline)

  5. Bags were delayed or lost (even ask for baggage fee to be refunded)

I’ve complained about these reasons over time and 90% of the time I’ve received bonus miles. I’ve received from 5,000 up to 20,000 miles just by emailing their customer service.

For example, Mr. O flight was canceled this week. American Airlines automatically rebooked him on an afternoon flight the next day. I instantly sent a quick email to customer service on his behalf.

The sent email stated,

“Recently I had a flight booked with your airline. I received a notification via my cell that my flight was canceled. I was rebooked for later the next day. I will miss meetings due to this inconvenience. Please confirm if anything can be done for this inconvenience. Thank you”

Your email can be worded the same. You don’t need to go into too much detail. Two days later, an email was received from AA Customer Service apologizing and offering 15,000 miles.

Super easy and on to the next flight.
